Download a Story in three steps

  1. Paste the current Instagram username or profile link into the search field above. Use the handle, including any dots or underscores, rather than the display name.
  2. Press Search and wait for the available Stories. Tap a photo or video tile to open it before choosing what to save.
  3. Tap Download in the viewer. Check your browser downloads or Files app for the saved photo or video. Repeat for another tile without submitting a new profile search.

Photos, videos and quality

Photos and videos are saved separately. Quality depends on the media available from Instagram; downloading does not restore detail lost when the original was uploaded. Preview the file before saving, and only reuse content with the owner’s permission.

What you can enter

Use @username, username or a profile URL such as instagram.com/example_creator/. This search does not accept individual Story, post or Reel links. You do not need to enter an Instagram password or connect your account.

If no Stories appear

Read the result before retrying. A private profile cannot be opened. A public account may have no active Stories, or the username may have changed. A temporary retrieval error does not prove that the account is private or missing. Check the handle and avoid repeating the same search while an error persists.

Stories and saved Highlights are different

This browser tool retrieves available active Stories, not a complete archive. It cannot recover expired or deleted Stories. For saved Highlight collections, use the Highlights option in our Telegram bot. Private content and Close Friends Stories remain unavailable.

Search limits and Telegram

Browser searches have a daily allowance. Opening or downloading a Story already shown in the results does not require another profile search. Telegram is an alternative for requesting public content, with its own limits; opening the bot does not automatically send your username.

Download Instagram Stories on iPhone or Android

  1. Search for the account using its Instagram username or profile link. If you already have results on this page, use those tiles instead of searching again.
  2. Open the photo or video you want, then tap Download. Your browser may ask you to confirm saving or open the media in a new view.
  3. Look in your browser’s downloads or the Files app. If the media opens instead of saving, use the browser’s save or share options. Available options vary by browser and file type.
  4. Open the saved file to check it. A video playing on the page is not necessarily saved to your phone, and a downloaded file may not appear automatically in Photos or Gallery.

If the download does not start

Keep the results page open and try the Download button on the same Story again. Check your connection and available storage. If the media has become unavailable, an old link may no longer work. A new search uses your daily allowance and cannot restore a deleted or expired Story.

Saving without an Instagram account

You do not sign into Instagram for this browser search. Only available public Stories can be returned. Do not share passwords, verification codes or session cookies with a downloader.

Saving a Highlight instead

A saved Highlight collection is different from an active Story. Request Highlights through the Telegram bot, choose an available collection and save the returned media there. Public access does not grant permission to republish someone else’s content.

If Stories do not appear

Check the current username first. A private profile, a profile that cannot be found, no active Stories and a daily search limit are different results. Follow the message shown beside the search. For a temporary error, try later; do not keep sending the same request.
